Tucked beneath a canopy of riverine trees along the seasonal Timbavati River, &Beyond Ngala Tented Camp offers an intimate safari experience in a private concession within South Africa’s iconic Kruger National Park. With exclusive traversing rights across 14,700 hectares (36,324 acres) of wilderness, guests can enjoy exceptional wildlife encounters in a setting that feels wonderfully removed from the outside world.

Ngala means *lion* in Shangaan, a fitting name for a place where nature remains firmly in charge. The camp blends the romance of a traditional tented safari with understated luxury, where canvas, lantern light and the sounds of the bush create an atmosphere that feels both adventurous and deeply peaceful.

Elevated guest areas overlook the seasonal riverbed, while a rim-flow swimming pool, wellness spa, fitness centre and lantern-lit dining spaces offer inviting places to unwind between game drives. Wildlife often moves through the surrounding landscape, bringing the wilderness into even the quietest moments of your stay.

Welcoming up to 18 guests, including children aged 12 and older, Ngala Tented Camp is particularly well suited to couples, honeymooners and travellers seeking a more secluded safari experience. Here, the magic extends beyond the game drive, with unhurried afternoons, intimate evenings and the feeling of being immersed in the natural world.

At Ngala, the bush is not simply something to explore; it is part of every moment, creating a safari that feels personal, authentic and wonderfully removed from the everyday.

“An intimate tented escape, where lantern light meets the wild heart of the Kruger”
