The cheetah is the fastest land animal, capable of reaching speeds of up to 100–120 km/h in short bursts, but only for a matter of seconds. Females typically raise litters of 3–5 cubs, yet despite this, cheetahs are among the most vulnerable of Africa’s big cats, with many cubs lost to predators such as lions and hyenas.
