andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve is no ordinary Big Five safari destination. This is where cheetahs sprint through grasslands once farmed, and black rhinos browse dense Tamboti thickets. It's a place where the land tells a story of restoration, and every encounter feels sacred. Spanning 29,866 hectares (73,800 acres) of rare biodiversity across seven distinct habitats, Phinda is one of Africa's most diverse private reserves. Set within the pioneering Munywana Conservancy in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and a short drive from the unspoiled beaches and coral reefs of the Indian Ocean, it offers more than extraordinary wildlife — but meaning. Because here, every stay helps protect what matters most.
The next leg of your journey will take you to spectacular Ballito – a mecca for sun lovers and water-sports enthusiasts. Idyllically set on the exquisite North Coast of South Africa, just 40 kilometres from the vibrant city of Durban, Ballito is a quiet seaside resort town known for its spectacular beaches and laidback atmosphere. The town features an attractive blue flag accredited main beach which offers safe swimming conditions as well as lifeguards and protective shark nets. There are also some lovely tidal pools which are ideal for families with young children. The area is famous for its large school of dolphins which can be spotted on a leisurely boat cruise or while relaxing on the shore. Whales are also frequently seen on their annual migration to Mozambique for the summer.
